about us

Brock O’Neill - Business Owner

I started the design office not to build a name, but to create works of art. To help others understand the power, emotion, & spirituality that thoughtfully designed spaces can bring into our lives. Great design has the ability to shape how we feel, how we connect, and how we experience the world around us.…ultimately working towards a timeless, universal beauty.

Come home to your dream.

Modern open-concept kitchen with marble island, light wood cabinetry, stainless steel refrigerator, and adjacent living area with white seating.
A modern kitchen with wooden cabinets, a white countertop island with two brown bar stools, a sink with a gold faucet, and potted plants on windowsills and shelves.
Modern two-story building with large glass windows, a wooden and white exterior, and a white decorative fence in front. There is a walkway leading to the entrance, surrounded by green grass, with palm trees and other trees in the background. The sky is clear and blue.
Modern house with a rooftop pool and a woman standing by the glass railing, palm trees in the background, and a white sports car parked in the garage. The scene is at sunset.

Full-Service Residential Design

The Design Office LLC is a full-service residential design studio providing thoughtful pre-construction design services for a select number of projects each year.

We believe every project should be pure, purposeful, and carefully considered. Good design is not about excess—it's about creating timeless architecture that responds to its site, its history, and the people who live there.

Experience

We have extensive experience modifying significant mid-century modern homes and the work of notable local avant-garde architects. These projects require a thoughtful approach that respects the original architecture while adapting it for modern living. We take great care to preserve the character, craftsmanship, and history of these homes—an important responsibility in Arizona, where much of our architectural heritage is relatively recent.

Our experience also includes designing new homes on challenging hillside sites, environmentally sensitive land overlays, and neighborhoods where new construction requires careful consideration of the surrounding context. We strive to create a contemporary desert architecture that belongs to its place—one defined by restraint, honest materials, deep overhangs, and a strong connection to the landscape. The result is a private desert villa that feels timeless, comfortable, and uniquely suited to the Sonoran Desert.

Our office manages the entire pre-construction design process and coordinates all required consultants, including:
